Chris Weber, Freese & Nichols, handles our seminars and newsletter.  He is involved with the Coasts, Oceans, and Rivers Institute organization and they are having a Fall conference he feels the Texas ASBPA Chapter would be interested in attending.  As you see from the COPRI letter below, we have Texas ASBPA Chapter members that belong to the organization.

Details about the conference are below, which looks like a great conference, and if you need information or have any questions to please contact Cris.

Dear COPRI Member:

It is with great pleasure that we announce the establishment of the Houston/Texas COPRI Chapter; hereafter known as HTX-COPRI. HTX‑COPRI goals are to enhance the advancement of scientific and engineering knowledge for members engaged in sustainable development and protection of coasts, oceans, ports, waterways, and wetlands. HTX-COPRI will bring added products and services to local members of ASCE and will foster communication and cooperation among our members in government, industry, and academia.

We would like to extend an invitation to you to attend the first local HTX-COPRI conference to be held on October 6, 2016.

The Committee has been working hard to bring together a one-day conference that will interest its membership. We are placing the finishing touches on the program sessions covering Coastal Engineering, Port Engineering, and Navigation & Waterways. More information will be coming soon.

We hope that you will be able to attend the conference and help make it a success. If you have any questions or wish to help at the conference, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Richard Ruchhoeft, P.E.
