The events were a real success with close to 90 people in attendance and a special thank you to the Chair, Cris Weber from Freese & Nichols, as well as Jace Tunnel and Dana Sjostrom from the University of Texas at Austin Marine Science Institute in Port Aransas (https://utmsi.utexas.edu/;and, also to Dr. Skip Evans in organizing and handling the field trip. The buffet luncheon was outstanding and a thank you again for the lunch sponsors Naismith Marine Services (http://www.naismithmarine.com/) and HDR Engineering (http://www.hdrinc.com/).

The Symposium was divided up for the morning sessions with water and relative sea level rise and coastal sediments with the afternoon session involving coastal planning and economics and living shorelines and structures.

Pictures of the field trip and symposium are on our website this week at: https://texasasbpa.wpengine.com/asbpa-2017-symposium/. I thank the photographers for the Symposium pictures, Vice President John Lee; the field trip and Symposium by ASBPA Executive Director Derek Brockbank; and, the field trip, Dr. Skip Evans.

Colonel Lars Zetterstrom will have a presentation on the U.S. Army Corp Galveston District. This will be our third year in coordinating our meeting the Galveston Army Corp District and they have been very successful with a large attendance so please mark your calendar and come. There is no charge and you will be treated with a great buffet luncheon and presentations. An agenda will be forthcoming.
