Call for Abstracts

Due March 31st, 2017

ASBPA Texas Chapter announces the Call for Abstracts for their 2016 Symposium, which will be held on April 25, 2017 at the UTMSI Visitor Center Auditorium, Port Aransas, Texas.

Technical and policy-oriented abstracts are invited for a broad range of coastal issues related to changes in coastal ecology, science, engineering, economics, and policy.

  • Due date for abstracts is March 31st (Friday). Submit one-page abstracts as PDF or Word documents to: cris.weber@freese.com or jace.tunnell@austin.utexas.edu.
  • Topic must be related to aims and goals of ASBPA and must be about the Texas coast.
  • Abstract should include: name(s) of author(s), affiliation and email address.
  • Each abstract will be evaluated by a diverse team of coastal researchers.

Program

The oral program will include 15 to 20-minute presentations along with poster presentations, as space permits. All oral presentations will be in Powerpoint format, posters will be in a 3-ft x 4-ft format. Poster sessions will occur after the oral presentations.

Field Trip Announcement

There will be a field trip on Monday, April 24, 2017 starting at The University of Texas Marine Science Institute in Port Aransas, TX, in conjunction with the 2017 Coastal Symposium. Download the details.

This trip will be led by Richard “Skip” Davis and Jim Gibeaut, with some helpers. It will begin at UTMSI and will cover the northern portion of Padre Island. We would like to know how many people are interested in attending, so please let us know your availability.
